We Should Stop using Plastic Straws (Persuasive Writing)
We should stop using plastic straws. I think plastic straws should be banned, they are just as bad as plastic bags. Plastic straws are everywhere! Restaurants, cafes, your house and so much more. They are polluting our earth. You should switch to metal, silicone or even bamboo straws and here's why...
When you use a plastic straw it will most likely end up in the ocean or other wildlife habitats. You may have heard the phrase "Save the turtles." Supporting banning plastic straws. Although its not just turtles in danger, many other marine life is in danger too. Once an animal digest's a straw it is life threatening to them. The plastic often gets stuck inside there body so they can't digest food, or the chemicals make them sick.
Plastic straws contain harmful chemicals, Polypropylene and Bisphenol A (BPA). When this type of plastic is left under heat the chemicals leak into the air. It is not good to inhale these chemicals, they harm our bodies, animals and plants.
In the U.S.A an average person uses about 38 000 straws a year. Which means 500 million straws are used a day. If that's just the U.S.A imagine how much the whole world uses. Plastic is not biodegradable, so plastic straws create so much waste.
Finally I think that we all need to start using environmentally friendly straws to protect our earth.

My Truffula Tree Cutter
This is my Truffula Tree cutter. It is environmentally friendly because to water the trees it collects rain water and it runs on solar panels. It also has a seed dropper to plant new trees. It only grabs enough fluff from each tree to make one thneed at a time.

Should Matariki be a public holiday? Argumentative Writing Week 12
I agree that we should make Matariki an official holiday in New Zealand. Just think why do we celebrate the european new year but not the maori? That’s not fair, we should be treating every culture in NZ equally. How many European public holidays are there? 9 plus we also have city anniversaries like Auckland anniversary. How many Maori public holidays are there? 1. Maybe some people don’t believe in it or don’t think it’s necessary to celebrate. That’s ok if it’s a public holiday people can choose whether or not they celebrate it.In conclusion I think we should as a country begin to celebrate more maori holidays just like we do European holidays.
This week our must do for writing was an argumentation piece.
